The Caleb Brett team provides cargo inspection and analytical assessment to the world’s petroleum, mining, minerals and biofuels industries. Intertek is searching for a Laboratory Manager to join our Caleb Brett team in our Ferndale, Washington office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Lab Management

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for Quality Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Legal and Ethical Compliance and Training.

What you’ll do:

. Renders to clients an accurate, rapid, and efficient testing service of indisputable integrity

. Provides adequate supervision of testing and review of results.

. Ensures that adequate calibrated equipment and trained personnel are available for all jobs

. Performs Laboratory employee performance, maintains discipline and recommends hiring and dismissal.

. Seeks new business

. Is a positive company representative to clients

. Sets a positive example for all employees through profession behavior and professional atmosphere

. Carries out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company's Safety Policy

and Procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management

System, Vision and Strategy, and exercises good judgement, common sense, and diplomacy


What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience in the petroleum industry is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees to actively support the objectives of the laboratory

. Organized with time management skills

. Experience in handling chemical and petroleum products

. Protocol, procedure and safety oriented

. Understand the significance of the data generated by test methods

Valid Driver's License with reliable driving record is required.

The base salary range for this position is $80 to 105 K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
