Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Laboratory Driver will ensure safe and expert delivery of lab and medical samples from PruittHealth pharmacies to Diagnostic Services in Norcross Georgia. This includes, but not limited to conducting vehicle inspections before leaving the pharmacies, ensuring that all credentials required are on person before departing on route, practicing safe driving at all times, providing excellent customer service, communicating delivery issues, and reporting issues with vehicle to supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Practice all PruittHealth safety, compliance, and quality control policies.
  • Interact with PruittHealth clients and partners with a positive professional demeaner and excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to operate company owned vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions, navigating routine hazards of the road.
  • Ensure all med products, samples and other items for shipments are prepared for transport according to established packing procedures.
  • Oversee blood and specimen product transportation for assigned locations and ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Maintains accurate records on daily trip log, fuel purchases, vehicle condition, other records as requested.
  • Act as a courier and driver for PruittHealth Laboratory and Diagnostic services.
  • Load and unload lab and medical specimens, pharmaceuticals or related supplies and materials.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment under time constraints without close supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Maintains confidentiality of company and patient information
  • Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
  • Able to utilize tools for efficient driving directions, including MapQuest and/or GPS units.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
  • Valid Driver’s License
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • High School diploma, GED or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge and skills
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
  • Familiarity working with and adapting to technology
  • Ability to pass initial drug screen
  • Proof of insurance
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • A valid driver’s license and excellent driving history
  • 2+ years of experience operating conventional vehicles for business purposes preferred.
  • Relevant industry/driving experience is a plus
