Aiken Regional Medical Centers,
located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. The Laboratory Director
has 24-hour responsibility and accountability to carry out the operations of the Laboratory. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates the administrative functions of the Laboratory. Works with the Medical Director of the Laboratory to assure quality of Laboratory results.

Duties:

  • Prepares and reviews contracts for Laboratory services
  • Prepares and submits required corporate dashboards
  • Is proactive in assuring that stakeholder groups and customers are receiving adequate attention to support high levels of satisfaction with the laboratory department.
  • Prepares, submits, and administers annual budgets for equipment, supplies, projects, services, and personnel.
  • Acts as a liaison between Laboratory and other Departments and physicians.
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies and provides leadership for any proposed or required changes.
  • Has 24-hour responsibility and accountability to direct and oversee all laboratory operations.
  • Develops and assures compliance with all operational, safety and budget matters utilizing key performance indicators.
  • Ensures all tests and procedures are performed according to Laboratory standards and policies and directs the process improvement (PI) program for the laboratory.

Requirements:

Education requirements: "Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Related Field.

Masters degree preferred."


Work experience requirements:
At least 4 years of experience associated with progressive responsibility in supervisory and management capacity


Required licenses/ certifications/courses
Registration by ASCP or equivalent Board of Registry.


Required skills, knowledge and abilities:
At least 10 years of clinical laboratory experience and working knowledge of state and federal regulations and accreditations.
