Job Description
The Labeling Specialist is responsible for coordination of creating, revising, and maintaining labeling and packaging art files throughout the life of a product. This position ensures that products meets regulatory labeling requirements for US and international distribution.
Labeling Specialist is responsible for designing and formatting all labeling for new and existing products under the direction of Regulatory Specialists and/or customers, while adhering to regulatory guidelines for pesticides and the Corporate Brand Strategy for packaging and labeling. Additionally, they will be responsible for controlling and tracking labeling approval requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with internal Regulatory Specialists, Product Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, production facilities, SDS Coordinator and Packaging Engineer in order to ensure packaging is available to the manufacturing plants on time for production.
  • Manages multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Keeps and maintains databases for label version control.
  • Creates detailed packaging for single or multilingual labeling, using Adobe InDesign.
  • Keeps and maintains database for Bar Codes.
  • Must complete Hazmat Training for proper Hazardous Materials shipping.
  • Creates California Printer’s Proofs for Regulatory Specialists submissions.
  • Obtains verification of transportation regulations from Packaging Engineer.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain Procurement determining packaging suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, optimal pricing, and products exceed quality expectations.
  • Works with other cross-functional departments to identify and resolve labeling inconsistencies with packaging material.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Experience in the ag-chem or other chemical industry helpful to understand the critical nature of labeling accuracy and requirements.
  • General understanding of US and international labeling (CLP/GHS) and hazardous transportation regulations (ADR, IATA, IMDG).
  • Attention to detail skills a must!
  • Ability to learn new technology applications. Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator) knowledge a plus.
  • Can multi-task with attention to detail on multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Windows applications and Outlook.
  • Clerical and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications:

  • This position does not require creativity design experience. It requires more attention to details and organizational skills.

  • Ability to be a self-starter with minimal direction.
