Neogen is looking for a Lab Technician to join the World’s largest Genomics Processing team! This entry level position performs laboratory tests and production support services through sample processing. Our Lab Technicians use a variety of scientific techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines in a fast-paced environment. Every day is different!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • May assist in the training of new technicians and interns to better manage laboratory workload.
  • Perform molecular biology laboratory techniques and lab procedures including PCR, DNA array processing, troubleshooting, and quality analysis.
  • Read and follow technical procedures for the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains laboratory notebooks, archives, and sample or specimen repository to maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Perform all duties essential to high quality throughput data generations associated with platform-specific technology, including, but not limited to, an assigned primary platform and/or secondary platform(s), analysis of reagents for performance, and other related tasks.
  • Assists in maintaining the laboratory including ordering supplies and equipment, calibrating instruments, performing preventive maintenance, reagent prep, and assuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Use a variety of lab equipment to process samples, including heavy use of automated liquid handling workstations.
  • Adhere to all departmental protocols, safety procedures, and comply with ISO laboratory requirements.
  • Meets individual and departmental goals and objectives.

  • Ability to multitask with good time management
  • Previous experience in a lab setting is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Work shift:


Monday-Friday 4:00pm-12:30am*

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or equivalent science related experience.


Computer Skills: It is preferred that candidates have a fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
