St. Joseph Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join their integrated team. The individual responsibilities would include collaborating with nursing units, staff training and competencies, data collection, monitoring of lab results and reporting of results.

The individual would assist in the leadership for the laboratory, in coordination with the Operations Manager, and Administrative Laboratory Director. Specific responsibilities would include monitoring lab safety, and oversight of laboratory quality system management (QSM), which would involve preparing quarterly reports for committee presentation.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate effective organizational skills and set appropriate priorities by completing assignments within prescribed timeframes
• Responsible to proactively identify performance issues, and engage the opinions of the Operations Manager and Administrative Laboratory Medical Director regarding solutions
• Abide by the hospital policies for the use of personnel protective equipment (PPE), and dispose all contaminated material according to established procedures with adherence to standards of infection control
• Responsible for data collection, monitoring, and reporting on an ongoing basis involving, laboratory testing, QSM, compliance to NYSDOH rules and regulations, and laboratory safety

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of supervisory experience required
• Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist under the NYS Department of Education
