Job Description

Summary

Why Apple?

We live in a mobile and device driven world where knowledge of the physical world around us is needed. We rely on this knowledge to get around, to learn about our environment and to enable spectacular new features for custom applications. Apple is meeting those needs as robustly and as creatively as possible and is interested in people who want to help meet that commitment. The success we are striving will be the result of very skilled people working in an environment which cultivates creativity, partnership, and thinking of old problems in new ways. If that sounds like the kind of environment that you find intriguing, then let's talk.

The iOS Hardware Distribution Team is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic manager with a track record of building deep relationships and managing large scale logistics. You will work cross-functionally across many teams at Apple to manage the distribution of prototype hardware to multiple software organizations and maintain a library of previous generations of hardware for all ongoing software development activities. In the process, you will need to understand the relationship of hardware components to software features to inform how best to support the engineering community. This role requires the ability to balance technical prowess and teamwork with excellent customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We’re looking for people who enjoy designing robust solutions to solve problems rather than focusing on completing tasks as fast as possible.

Key Qualifications

Experience delivering excellent customer service and resolving customer issues and escalations effectively
Understand and deal well with fast-moving development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity
Detailed knowledge and understanding of product development processes
Shown ability to handle schedules and team deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with relational databases and analyzing large data sets
Management experience in an engineering or technical project management environment

Description

As a Lab Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
Managing prototype hardware distribution for teams throughout software engineering from silicon planning to mass production to sustaining support
Utilizing engineering knowledge and previous experience to analyze data, highlight risks and solve problems creatively
Collaborating with cross-functional partners to optimize logistics for hardware arrival and distribution around Santa Clara Valley
Leading strategic initiatives to increase team efficiency, process management and cost savings for multiple software organizations

You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation. Learn more about Apple Benefits.
