We are a tiny but mighty specialty coffee shop and bakery with one store in East Harlem and one store near Columbia.
We're passionate about coffee and food and about serving our neighborhood with the best products and service that we can. We pride ourselves on making some of the most delicious things in New York City (we have been featured in the NY Times, Eater, Food + Wine, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Serious Eats, and many others) and are looking for someone great to join our team.

Job description

The Porter position is critical member of our team. This position is responsible for keeping the shop clean and organized so that everyone else can do their jobs – without a great Porter, we are nothing.

The Porter is responsible for keeping the store clean and organized from top to bottom. This includes washing dishes, sweeping and mopping the floors, cleaning the bathroom and the rest of the shop, taking out the trash, and otherwise keeping everything neat and tidy.

Hours

20-25 hours per week, including weekends, 4-5 days per week. Shifts are roughly 5 hours long and begin after 2pm. Weekend availability is a must.
Growth opportunities exist as we’re looking to add additional locations.
Duties and responsibilities

• Weekly oven cleaning
• Kitchen
• Weekly ice machine cleaning
• Clean walls, floors, counters, shelves and kitchen equipment.
• Deep fryer filter and clean
• Clean floor mats.
• Take out trash
• Remove grease from kitchen hoods and exhaust fans. Clean vents.
• Sweep and mop floors
• Disinfect sinks & prep surfaces.
• Refill soap and paper towel dispensers
• Bathroom
• Keep the shop tidy
• Clean, dry, and put away dishes and trays
