Kitchen Helper - Ackerman Elementary - 6 Hrs/Day

Seeking a Kitchen Helper for Ackerman Elementary School – 6 hours per day!

Millard Public Schools is searching for a hard-working, reliable kitchen helper for Ackerman Elementary School to assist with preparing and serving meals for students and staff, and cleaning/maintaining a healthy kitchen and lunchroom.

This is a 10-month position; Kitchen Helpers work the same days as students, Monday through Friday, with the same vacations and holidays. Enjoy a rewarding position, providing nourishment for kids in a fun, dynamic environment!

Title: Elementary Kitchen Helper

Hours: 7:30am-2pm

Reports to: Elementary School Kitchen Manager

Essential Functions:

• Interact positively with students, building staff, and supervisors.
• Serve prepared food to students.
• Perform miscellaneous food service duties as assigned including acting as a cashier for lunch. Assemble machines, count money, order and store supplies, and secure food in containers for shipment to other school kitchens.
• Perform assigned duties associated with the preparation of meals. Cook and bake food, prepare individual portions and perform other food preparation duties as assigned.
• Adjust to change in a dynamic environment, maintaining productivity while handling other essential tasks as assigned.
• Clean and sanitize utensils, dishes, and appliances, machines, and other equipment. Perform general cleaning duties in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to follow work instructions in all areas of foodservice and maintain a positive attitude toward the foodservice program.
• Ability to report to work on time and notify manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and others.
