Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Undergraduate Accelerated Degree Program (ADP) for Kinesiology. Specifically, the program is seeking a candidate with expertise in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, and Health Risk Appraisal.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Performs other duties as assigned by Program Director, Division Chair, or Dean
- Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)
- Maintains curriculum at course level
- Teaches 24 hours per year in the ADP-KIN program
- Grades comprehensive examinations
- Pursues professional development in order to maintain best practices
- Maintains a robust record of scholarship
- Serves on dissertation committees
Skill Sets:
- Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills
- Demonstrated content expertise in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, and Health Risk Appraisals
- Demonstrated record of mentorship of graduate students and scholarship
- Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago
- Proficiency with learning management systems, preferred Blackboard
- Proficiency with online pedagogy
- Proficient with lecture recording to aid in online education
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum Experience Required:
Prior experience teaching in online education is required
Education Requirements:
- Undergraduate certification or colloquy completion as a professional church worker in the LCMS is preferred
- A minimum of a Master's Degree in Exercise Science is required; a Doctoral Degree in Exercise Science is preferred
