Job Description
Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a kindergarten teacher to join our passionate and experienced teaching team. This position is for our stand-alone kindergarten classroom that feeds our three lower elementary classrooms. Montessori teachers create joyful classroom communities where children become independent, compassionate, and active learners who will grow to thoughtfully shape the world. The teacher is their guide, encouraging wonder, love of learning, curiosity, and skill.
Montessori teachers also build community beyond the walls of their own classroom.Duties Include: -Promote equity of student access and outcomes-Designs and uses research and Montessori-aligned best practices to design instructional strategies, innovations, and activities that are observation and research-based and meet student needs in alignment with Common Core State Standards.-Uses various methods of timely communication to discuss student growth and development with guardians.-Create a respectful and collaborative environment-Provide direction, support, and supervision for the assigned Classroom Assistant-Work independently with minimum supervision and exercise sound independent judgment-Interact thoughtfully and courteously with a diverse population of students, staff, parents, and community members and resolve conflict in a professional manner.-Other duties as described in the full job descriptionRidgeline Montessori was the first public Montessori school in Oregon and has successfully served public K-8 students in Eugene, Oregon since September 2000. The school provides an academically rigorous Montessori education to children from all walks of life. Every day students balance their freedom to explore and think for themselves with their responsibility to work and learn within a community. Eugene, Oregon is a diverse and progressive city in the south end of the Willamette Valley, beside the scenic Willamette River.

It is no wonder it is "A Great City for the Arts and Outdoors."Required QualificationsA bachelors degree and any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill may be considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain required knowledge and skill would be: -Montessori Credential for this level, or -Current Oregon Teaching License*, or-Experience teaching at assigned grade level in a public Montessori setting*Must have willingness to attend Montessori summer trainingPreferred Qualifications: -Montessori Elementary training, and or-Experience as an assistant in a Montessori classroom-Deep understanding of child development-Experience with inclusive practices-Experience with 25 or more children in a classroom environmentSalary: $38,575 - $66,861 per year (Based on 22-23 salary schedule)Application Deadline: April 20, 2023 or until filledRidgeline strives to create an inclusive environment that welcomes and values the diversity of the people we serve.
