Position Summary
This is a hybrid position located in Austin, Texas.
Must have U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain the post-hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation
As a Junior Project Manager/ New Grad in the NORAM PMO team,
you will assist in the delivery of solutions that meet customer requirements and Thales’ commitments. Your role will directly contribute to internal and external customer satisfaction, which is key for business growth.
The Identity and Biometrics Solutions team is responsible for the design and development of highly innovative components and products, from desktop applications integrating various hardware (biometric devices integration) to high performance server applications, including issuance of official documents in a very secure environment (PKI, encryption, cryptography), and leading the transformation to Digital Driver’s Licenses.
Key Areas of Responsibility

• Help ensure project implementation follows all Thales process and procedures.
• Help support issue resolution coordinating experts from various disciplines
• Coordination of multiple projects
• Focus on precise planning, forecast, continuous risk and contingency management, change management and timely escalation
• Must help Project Manager coordinate across teams for prioritization, resource allocation, risk identification and mitigation, and issue resolution.
• Help ensure Effective communication at all levels of organization
• Must help support onboarding of vendors and sub-contractors.
• Help build and maintain project schedule and cost baseline and update project forecast monthly
• Help provide precise, fact based, relevant information in form of weekly project report internally and externally
• Help support all interactions between Thales, vendors, and the Customer for their project
• Must:
• Help support the presentation of the monthly project dash board with project financials, project KPIs like variance and contingencies
• Help support the facilitation of risk identification and manage the risks through mitigation actions and corresponding costs
• Help manage the change management process
• Help the Project Manager to drive the project to ensure customer satisfaction by meeting deadlines, quality specifications, and project profitability
• Must help Project Manager ensure compliance of Thales, Customer, Security and all applicable regulations individually and for the project(s)

Minimum Requirements

• Prior experience working to and managing deadlines
• Detail oriented with strong follow up
• Project Management Principles Knowledge / background
• Proficiency in written and oral communication
• Problem solver
• At least 1 year of experience leading a project (academic/ work/ volunteer) to completion
• Comfortable making presentations
• Self-starter who demonstrates leadership qualities and flexibility
• Must be literate with MS suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Cloud (AWS, Azure), mobile app development (iOS/Android) project, and/ or cybersecurity
• Experience managing technical projects
• Exposure to PM tools – Confluence or equivalent, JIRA or equivalent

This position could travel up to 25% of travel within the US and Canada
