ABS Group is a global company that provides a broad array of technical and management consulting services to meet the needs of our clients. Our Global Government division, headquartered in Washington, DC supports federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, the United States Coast Guard, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
We are looking for a Junior Policy Analyst to provide management consulting support to a new office in the Department of Transportation. The candidate will work on a dynamic team and highly engaged clients to meet fast-paced project requirements. Every day, our team members analyze and design solutions to inform clients how to best address their most complex challenges and improve business operations. Responsibilities
- Develop tailored briefing materials and reports information and recommendations to a diverse group of stakeholders
- Identify and understand client expectations, ensuring alignment of proposed solution and identified constraints.
- Be comfortable presenting your work to a small audience conveying results or facilitating discussion to support a client decision
- Prepare project documentation such as minutes or business process documents, as required
- Innovative thinker and problem solver able to support multi-task assignments for our government client.
- Gain a high-level understanding of policy, standards, and regulations governing the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry
- Translate business needs into recommendations, implement selected recommendations and create associated documentation
- Interact directly with clients and federal partners to determine the impact of regulations and standards on industry, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
- Maintain a positive working environment and can-do attitude to foster productive and healthy team and client relationships
- Work with a team of experts to establish and maintain documents that illustrate the regulatory framework
- Understand and apply process improvement and performance management concepts
Required
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly ramp up with new clients, their business needs, and technologies
- Ability to conduct research, gain understanding of regulatory policy, and communicate with stakeholders of varying levels of technical background
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- U.S. citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree required (Political Science, Business, or relevant field preferred)
- Ability to write reports summarizing findings
- Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products
Preferred
- Analytical mind and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience reviewing, learning, and applying standards or regulations
- Strong affinity for data-driven solutions
- Previous government consulting experience
