A week in the life of a Junior Naval Architect:

  • Assist in the design, development and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels
  • Assist with naval architecture analysis related to vessels
  • Support reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components
  • Help with the stability analyses of ships
  • Evaluate performance of craft during dock and sea trials to determine design changes
  • Help the Senior Naval Architect to oversee construction and testing of prototype in model basin
  • Assist with the design complete hull and superstructure according to specifications and test data

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering and 0 - 1 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Previous experience with progressive ship structural analysis
