Job Description

Provide junior to mid-level geologic and hydrogeologic technical field support for environmental investigation, remediation, and geotechnical projects and proposals, primarily in the areas related to geology, hydrogeology, remediation, field work, and data interpretation/presentation. Experience as a field operation leader, supervising various drilling methods and installing monitoring wells is required and experience with high-resolution site characterization (HRSC) techniques including LIF, UVOST, and MIPHPT technologies is preferred. Capable of evaluating geologic and chemistry data to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings in project reports using text, figures, graphs, etc. and/or integrate into groundwater modeling or visualization programs. Develop and assume responsibility for execution of basic to moderately complex tasks/projects. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role:

Provide mid-level geology and hydrogeology input to projects.
  • Assume supporting technical role for projects and/or programs.
  • Assume supporting roles in proposals and marketing.
  • Assume task management role based on capabilities and experience
  • Maintain strong skills/capabilities regarding technical areas, especially in the areas of general hydrogeology and groundwater characterization/remediation.
  • Plan and oversee/perform hydrogeologic investigations and remediation projects.
  • Provide guidance to and mentor junior staff in technical areas (including but not limited to the fields of general geology, hydrogeology, and groundwater characterization/remediation) to build overall technical capabilities of Tetra Tech staff.
  • Perform and lead field testing, multimedia sampling, and other investigation fieldwork.
  • Technical report writing and data evaluation tasks
  • Provide field leadership role and drilling oversight.

Qualifications:
  • Successful past performance directing and supervising subcontractors. Experience with Construction Management is a plus.
  • Solid computer skills required, advanced skills desirable, including knowledge of groundwater contouring platforms and pre- and post-data processing and presentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a geosciences field required, Master’s degree (MS/MA) and/or hydrogeology-related academic experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years directly related professional experience and/or training in environmental geosciences-related work (advanced degree may serve as 1 year of experience), including a strong background/demonstrated experience supervising field operations, conducting environmental site characterization and remediation fieldwork.
  • Skill motivating others and leading teams.
  • PG license preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training is required. Other OSHA training is desirable.
