Job Purpose:

The Junior Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Data and Accounting & Finance teams in gathering and reviewing data to prepare custom ad-hoc reports in Microsoft Excel and SQL to fulfill various stakeholder needs throughout the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Review data sets and reports for accuracy and perform data cleaning to ensure the integrity and compliance of the master data.
• Process manual ad-hoc reports by collaborating with cross-functional teams on gathering requirements.
• Acquire and gather data from primary or secondary data sources to build custom reports in Microsoft Excel and SQL for various stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned
• Utilize data to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or business patterns in complex data sets
• Support the Senior Data Analyst with troubleshooting technical issues with data or reports and comparing captured data to real results to identify areas for improving data processes.
• Support the Senior Data Analyst with data mining, web scraping, and identifying technical issues with data or reports.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Experience using SQL and Power BI is highly desired
• Bachelor’s Degree (or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree) in Data Analysis, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is desired
• 1+ years of experience in Data Analysis (inclusive of Internships)
• Experience using Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), SPSS, API, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is desired.
• Strong experience and Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Financial and statistical forecasting
• Skilled in Ad Hoc Reporting and Data Queries
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.

Cognitive Demands:

The Junior Data Analyst be able to multi-task various projects at once and work well under pressure and tight deadlines. Additionally, they must demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication skills (oral and written).
