Junior Attorney Jobs

Jr. Attorney assists the team in managing multiple cases. This role will assist in preparing litigation reports and risk assessments, draft legal documents, and make court appearances on behalf of our clients. This role's focus areas are M&C, Motions, Privilege Logs, Form and Letter Drafting, Subpoenas, Discovery Summaries, Research, and Complaints.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in interviewing clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
• Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
• Assist in negotiating low-level settlements and attend mediations.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.
• Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
• Assist in preparing litigation reports and risk assessments.
• Assist in providing case evaluation, legal support, and guidance.
• Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
• Drafting and finalizing complaints, meet and confer letters, motions to compel, and discovery responses.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
• May attend hearings, depositions, and other court appearances.
• Building trustworthy relationships with clients and experts.
• Attend focus groups.
• Drafting legal documents such as depositions, pleadings, and contracts in a timely and accurate manner.
• Stay informed about any current legislation.
• Gathers and assists in preparing new client questionnaire "care packages," correspondence, and documents to experts.

Education/Experience:

• Active license to practice law/membership in State Bar.
• Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school required.
• 1-2 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Bachelor’s degree in a law-related field required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
