THE BASICS

The Junior Art Director position is a melding of engaging visual design and intuitive design development skills to support our Branding Consultants and to meet the demands of visual components directly involved with client proposals and specs. The Junior Art Director will respond to a multitude of requests for virtual demonstrations of end-user promotional advertising items and/or visual products that assists the Branding Consultants in closing sales opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design to meet licensor requirements (style guides)
• Produce graphic design elements and page layouts using fundamental visual design skills.
• Take direction from the Creative Director, Project Manager, and Branding Consultants
• Determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
• Following the lead of the Creative Director to build virtual samples, set up mechanical files for product-specific projects, typesetting, color separations, prepare presentations, and all graphic-related print mediums.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

• A basic visual design background with a broad understanding of design and usability technology
• BFA or equivalent education is preferred, but not required.
• Good information design (must have the ability to conceptualize and articulate solutions)
• Competent knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts
• Computer literate, including Outlook, Word, PPT, Slack, Cloud Storage such as Box.com, and Excel. Work experience is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in design work
• Understanding of Mac-based design programs, Adobe Illustrator (intermediate level), and Photoshop
