Journeyman Welder Jobs

Independently set up, adjust, modify and operate all welding equipment and machine operation capacity. Work with materials including mild steel and steel alloys, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and aluminum alloys. Perform planning, part layout, parts assembly, blueprint interpretation. Configure heavy items using proper rigging equipment and transition heavy items to and from overhead crane operations to and from forklift manipulation. Install new machines. Dismantle and install machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required. Three years’ experience in each: a) utilizing processes including Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Oxy-Fuel Cutting (OFC), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Short Circuit transfer Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW-SA), Pulsed transfer Gas Metal Arc (GMAW-P) and Sub Arc Welding, b) operating a variety of metal cutting, welding, assembly, finishing and inspection equipment, including welding machines, cutting machines and/or tables, shears, drill presses, pipe, angle and channel benders, notchers,
grinders, etc.

Education Requirements:

Possess Certifications for following American Welding Society (AWS) welder
performance qualifications:

D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code unlimited thickness in the flat and horizontal positions with groove and fillet welds using the SMAW process with an E-10018 or E- 7018 electrode.

D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code unlimited thickness in the flat and horizontal positions with groove and fillet welds using the GMAW-P process with an ER-70S or ER-100S electrode

D1.2 Structural Aluminum Welding Code for the thickness range of 3/16 Unlimited Thickness in the flat and horizontal positions with groove with backing and fillet welds using the GMAW-P process with an ER-4043 or ER-5356 electrode.
