DAY-TO-DAY
This full-time vocational rehabilitation team member at our human services nonprofit works during regular business hours.
As a Job Coach with Families Forward, you have a unique opportunity to help program participants achieve their goals and succeed in their careers. With your exceptional people skills, you build trust and rapport with each participant, making them feel comfortable and valued from the start. By conducting comprehensive intakes in this job placement role, you explore their needs, strengths, interests, aptitudes, experience, and capabilities, helping them gain a deeper understanding of themselves and identify the right career path.
Your partnership with each participant leads to the development of a Family Contract Amendment (FCA), outlining their short-term and long-term employment and other goals. Through your guidance in this job placement specialist role, participants feel empowered and confident in their ability to achieve success. You meet with participants on your caseload regularly, document progress toward their goals, and provide ongoing orientation to ensure they're clear on their TANF and program requirements. Your communication skills come in handy as you secure releases and build effective communication with your participant's medical, behavioral health, and other providers. While working on our vocational rehabilitation team, you may even work with a targeted caseload, such as two-parent families or individuals enrolled in higher education.
Working as an employment coordinator, you utilize your talent for record-keeping as you document all communication and contact with participants and external partners in FedcapCARES. As a job placement specialist with our human services nonprofit, you make requests for needed support services such as childcare, transportation, educational services, and others to the Office of Family Independence (OFI) Support Services Unit to assist participants in achieving their FCA requirements. You uphold all agency policies and expectations in performing your job and run reports in FedcapCARES, using data to plan your daily and weekly tasks. You also contact and reschedule participants who miss appointments with you, ensuring everyone stays on track.
As a member of our vocational rehabilitation team, you represent Fedcap with all stakeholders and in the community in a positive and professional manner. Your passion for helping people and exceptional eye for detail make a real difference in the lives of program participants. You thrive in this job placement position, knowing you're changing your community for the better. Join our human services nonprofit as a Job Coach and help make a positive impact today!
