Position Summary
The JET program at City Kids encompasses a range of programming themes from wilderness leadership and youth development to professional development and career exploration. The JET Program Associate’s primary responsibility is executing the post-high school career exploration and professional development programming elements of the program. JET programming includes school year and summer programming– outdoor adventure trips, workshops, leadership and professional development training, community service opportunities, summer internships and post high school planning support. As a part of the City Kids programs team, the JET Program Associate supports broader JET, applicant, and all-cohort programming. They are responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality programming for JET participants.

- Strong risk management practices
- Highly organized with strong planning and management skills
- Flexibility, creativity and the ability to thrive in an evolving environment
- A successful track record of mobilizing a team, inspiring and leading high school youth, and an understanding of high school aged youth development
- Ability to stay within budgeted expenses, attention to cost and ability to negotiate discounts and in-kind donations.
- Current CPR, Wilderness First Aid or higher certification Wilderness First Responder Preferred
- A personal commitment to and deep understanding of City Kids mission
- Passion for and interest in planning and leading youth-based outdoor adventure programming
- Outstanding verbal, written, and listening skills
- Cultural competency, the ability to work in diverse communities and a commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion
- Personal qualities of maturity, humility, strong work ethic, and a roll-up-my-sleeves attitude
- A valid, clean driver’s license (must have had a driver's license for at least 2 years)
- Attention to detail
- Summer camp, previous outdoor adventure or experiential education experience preferred
- Pre-employment background checks will be conducted
- Experience in developing and leading college preparation and professional development activities
- An engaging and dynamic manner that demonstrates warmth and good humor when working with others
