Description


The IT Technician is responsible for installing and configuring computer systems and networks, diagnosing and repair hardware and software issues, and providing technical support and assistance to users. Responsible to perform audits, maintain inventory, update software, and train user on various technologies. Duties include working with other IT members to install hardware and troubleshoot computer issues, responding to IT questions from the Company employees (“customer”) and updating malware protection devices to prevent viruses or computer hacking. Exercise sound judgment in all decision making.


Essential Functions


  • Monitor networks to ensure that they are running optimally and that no problems are slowing down the system, elevate any concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues, be view as a part of the solution
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting and respond to customer issues via phone, email, computer chat, and in person
  • Installing and configuring workstations (hardware and software) components to ensure usability, to include printer / copiers support
  • Run diagnostics to resolve customer reported issues
  • Monitor workstations for backups and antivirus updates
  • Manage Help Desk tickets through the system in a timely manner and elevate issues that require a higher level of assistance
  • Document customer interactions and follow-up with customers to ensure issues are resolved
  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware
  • Support with camera and security functionality and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues and elevating issues that require a higher level of assistance

Qualifications


  • Flexibility to adjust to the needs of the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to speak well with a diversity of people to include executive management
  • Detail oriented to keep detailed notes on tickets
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, in good standing
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts with minimal notice. Participation in an oncall rotation.
  • High level of dependability and reliability
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Highly organized to keep Help desk tickets in order
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
  • Adherence to the attendance policy
  • Ability to drive to various store locations as needed, with little notice
  • Ability to effectively multitask while meeting deadlines
