Summary
Provides technical assistance to Town employees (including law enforcement) regarding personal computers, software programs, ancillary, peripheral and audio visual equipment, mobile devices and operational maintenance. Handles a variety of issues independently and troubleshoots end user request for service. Work requires a general technical knowledge of PC operating systems, applications and hardware, mobile device based hardware and software applications, operating system patch management, audio visual equipment and the ability to evaluate and troubleshoot basic network connectivity to end user devices. Proven coordination and planning skills with third party vendors engagements for IT equipment procurement, network cabling, hardware/software installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting are required. Ability to follow and maintain procedural and inventory documentation is essential. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills are required. Complex technical, network, server issues are referred to a higher-level support. Evening/weekend on-call responsibilities are required for: after-hours system upgrades, inclement weather, and public safety support when requested. A successful Information Technology Support Specialist is a highly motivated organized individual with the ability to apply excellent trouble shooting skills towards successful resolutions, communicate effectively with various customers within organization, understands the needs of the customer, possess a strong desire to learn and is a key contributor to a successful team environment.
Please note that the minimum pay range shown is just that - a minimum. We look at every candidate individually and will make sure that your starting pay offer will be competitive based on the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities YOU bring to the table. In addition to base pay, we also offer an additional $100 per paycheck ($2,600/year) as a discretionary income supplement. You will also be eligible for an additional 2% increase upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period.
