Position: IT Support Specialist

Type: Part time/FT

Location: Lewiston

Reports to: Director of Programs

POSITION:

The IT support specialist is primarily responsible to support MEIRS staff, volunteers for computer, networking hardware. Part of the IT support is provided remotely and in person depending on location.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining agency software by communicating third party companies.
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor
• Update agency web site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
• Building and maintaining our social media sites/website
• Assist in set up of IT related equipment offices in the agency locations
• Monitor, track and document IT issues
• Manage and track physical inventories by staff, department and programs
• Document and track inventories in and out of the agency
• Creating and designing agency marketing tools.
• Identify, research and resolve technical problems
• Resolve issues any IT related issues like printer, fax, phone and internet
• Install, configure, upgrade hardware/software on workstations
• Respond to emails, phone calls and in person requests for technical support in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a networked environment and an understanding of network principles and configuration including VPN and others
• Excellent customer services, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• IT certifications is required
• Degree in computer science or equivalence experience/qualifications
• Ability to prioritize and complete multitasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrate experience installing, configuring and supporting operating systems, PCs, printers, and other hardware

• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Lift and transport heavy objects such as computers, printers and etc
