IT Strategy & Innovation Director (Risk & Quality)
Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
The IT Strategy & Innovation Director is responsible for providing business unit partners and CIOs with guidance on IT enablement strategies and aligning business. The Director will help drive data and data-driven digital strategies for Risk Adjustment, HEDIS and/or Stars functions for our Medicare & Medicaid businesses working closely with our internal stakeholder and technology partners. Will also leverage several strategic and tactical data approaches to improve CMS Stars measure performance and completeness and accuracy of coding for risk adjustments.
How You Will Make An Impact
  • Support partner evaluations (M&A, build-buy) by connecting IT & Business strategies and influencing the adoption of Carelon technology differentiators into overall business strategy to Develop, Implement & Support strategic planning and roadmaps.
  • Advancing innovative solutions that support business growth. IT partner for business ideation pipeline representing IT in solution ideation sessions.
  • Perform partner evaluation (M&A, build-buy activities).
  • Influence the delivery of new technology solutions to market faster.
  • Represent IT in client-facing discussions to drive growth & retention.
  • Align strategies with the overarching IT strategies and advancing technology solutions to support business growth and opportunities.
  • Assists with transformation stage gates. Support IT and business partners with budget management, financials, and funding guidance.
  • Supports the commercialized model where Carelon is developing software/portfolios of digital and technical solutions/products.
  • Serves as the ambassador for Carelon IT and business units to the Innovation & Digital teams.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 15 years experience in technology, product management, strategic planning, and/or consulting, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Experiences
  • Experience with and knowledge of clinical interoperability standards preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the development of AI-based applications and/or digital products desired.
  • Consulting experience is desired.
  • Five years of experience in the healthcare payer industry.
  • Ten years of experience driving data strategies and capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present across different levels of the organization including executive leadership.
  • Experience in a healthcare or health plan environment is strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience building data-driven applications for Medicare/Medicaid Risk Adjustment, HEDIS, and/or Stars
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $143,280 to $257,904.
Locations: California; Colorado; Nevada; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY and Westchester County, NY
