About the Position
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Quality Assurance Analyst provides the means and measures for testing all aspects of a software solution, both functionally and technically, to meet the requirements and overall quality of the intended solution. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for testing our state-of-the-art web-based judicial case management system and developing functional tests, regression tests, integration tests, as well as employing issue resolution tracking. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with a well-established test automation infrastructure and software quality assurance test process throughout the development cycle.
Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This position will allow for a telework schedule up to 4 days per week dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
  • Other combinations of post-secondary education and job-related experience in functional testing of web-based applications may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Our Preferred Candidate has:
  • Experience with TFS/MTM/Jira/Confluence/Service Now
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Team City and Octopus
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in functional testing of web-based applications
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile/Kanban and DeVOps
  • Experience with case management systems
  • Experience with Test Automation
  • Certification in Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) or International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Analyzing new product features and business requirements to develop, maintain and execute in-depth test cases in TFS/MTM (Microsoft Test Manager)
Skill in:
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating information
  • Defect tracking systems (TFS/JIRA) and clearly documenting defects
  • Utilizing test automation to increase test coverage
Ability to:
  • Problem-solve a variety of situations.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision, highly motivated self-starter
  • Communicate with both business and technical staff.
  • Create test plans and articulate successful measures for evaluating software in the development phase of a project.
  • Be proactive, prioritize, and work with flexibility while meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Work in a highly collaborative team environment
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)
  • Provides software quality assurance support to multiple software development and maintenance projects by creating, executing, and maintaining functional test cases.
  • Executes and analyzes automated test reports, communicates test results, and ensures proper coordination and communications with customers and internal staff to identify and resolve customer problems and concerns associated with supported software applications.
  • Occasionally responsible for training and second-level production support and QA Analysts.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Translates business and functional requirements into test cases and ensures they meet the business and system requirements, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues as well as maintaining a regression suite of test cases.
  • Participates in the development of test plans, test cases, and execution of test scripts to ensure the delivery of quality software and information systems.
  • Develops, maintains and executes project related test scenarios using Microsoft Test Manager and validates user stories and bugs using Azure DevOps / TFS.
  • Ensures test coverage accounts for positive and negative scenarios, cross browser testing, mobile, integration testing, white box and black box testing as well as functional testing for both internal as well as external systems/websites.
  • Identifies and documents errors and inconsistencies in the functionality, usability, and performance of software.
  • Conducts post-deployment verification through either automated smoke testing or manual verification.
