Job Summary


The Specialist, IT Operations implements, maintains, and supports equipment, devices, technologies, systems, applications, and solutions across multiple locations to ensure system performance and stability meet or exceed functional & and capacity requirements. This role provides ongoing monitoring, operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting and may also assist in the build and engineering. Performs upgrades, setup, testing, automation and scheduling. The Specialist provides training for business critical areas, manages and monitors Change Control tickets and trouble tickets, provisions access and provides email-based support, and open and maintain tickets in change management systems.


While working with little supervision from their team and management, the Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring that all reported incidents within their area of expertise are resolved within the agreed upon Service Level Objectives. This involves reviews and attempts to resolve or escalate incidents to other team members. The Specialist, IT Operations is a competent subject matter knowledge in business and/or IT processes, software and hardware technologies and look for opportunities to identify and request for additional features and capabilities


Most will specialize in a specific infrastructure domain such as Datacenter Network, Compute, Storage, Voice and Communications, Collaboration Applications, Virtualization and OS, Cloud, Endpoint Management, Mobile Technology, or Infrastructure Tools and Automation.



Essential Job Functions:


  • Leadership - Lead other Analysts and provide knowledge and support on operational incidents. Ensures vendor requirements are met, and business and vendor scheduling complies with business needs including existing and new building expansions, major implementations, and system integration efforts.   • Relationship Management - Demonstrates professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills when Collaborates collaborating with team members, stakeholders, vendors, and IT partners to plan and deliver business/IT operationalization initiatives. Maintains vendor relationships in support of operational and design efforts. Collaborates with key vendors, carriers, and internal IT partners to support technical planning of mid- to long-term initiatives. For all approved major initiatives, creates detailed project plans and leads oversight of implementation.
  • Technology - Implements, supports and upgrades desktops, servers/software solutions/business processes/ operating systems.  Applies a customer services mindset while providing 24x7 on-call support in troubleshooting, coordination and escalation to Specialists, Engineers or Developers to ensure the recovery of failed components, equipment or jobs. Leads infrastructure, software process automation and instrumentation. Utilizes monitoring & management tools to support server infrastructure, application processes etc. Demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time period with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Process - Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans, and performs annual testing to ensure we remain compliant with FDIC BC/DR requirements. Supports all vulnerability and patch management duties for their respective systems and infrastructure domain. Formulates and maintains global and site-specific drawings and maps, equipment and licensing inventories, and Technology Roadmap Charts. Maintains and enhances security related components. Creates/maintains documentation and procedures. Manages, executes and drives resolution to priority related system issues. Identifies gaps and risks in operation, capacity, equipment, diversity, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery efforts as they relate to the area they support, and assists with developing, presenting and executing plans to mitigate. Develop and maintain standard operating procedure

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Must maintain currency of technical skills in relevant technologies. May be required to lift up to 80 pounds for installation of equipment (depending on focus of job); 24/7 On-call coverage; may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and possibly holidays; May be required to travel domestically 15-20% annually. May be required to go under desks & floor tiles, use ladders/electric lifts move ceiling tiles.

Minimum Qualifications


  • 2 years+ work experience as a Systems Administration or Engineering work experience in area of specialization


Preferred Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science


Certifications


  • ITIL, Azure MCP, VMWare VCP, NetApp Storage, Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, TDM/ VoIP/SIP
  • 2+ years work experience in the Infrastructure domain specified in summary (e.g. Datacenter, Voice and Network Infrastructure, Virtualization & OS Engineering, Cloud, Tools & Automation)


Typical Starting Range


$86,100.00 - $156,000.00


Full Salary Range For Position


California:$98,800.00 - $195,000.00


Colorado:$86,100.00 - $163,900.00


New York:$94,700.00 - $195,000.00


Washington:$90,400.00 - $179,100.00


The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.


Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.


All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.


Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
