The IT Director will report to the VP, IT Business Solutions. This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The IT Director works with business partners across McCormick seeking to shape demand for capabilities and solutions forming IT's business-aligned capability roadmap. This role ensures that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are identified, optimized, and recognized in partnership with other IT teams. Acts as an internal business consultant by recommending strategic projects that brings business value. Provides technical expertise regarding project design, architecture, implementation, and support. This position is responsible for the direct management of global teams. The Director must be able to communicate technical roadmaps, strategies, capabilities, solutions, and trends both inside IT, with business leaders, and with leadership teams in a form and level that each audience can consume. Through effective relationship and stakeholder management, the Director contributes to IT direction by actively partnering with business stakeholders to determine and set overall strategic technology direction. They work to identify ways in which they can support and advance business objectives. Additionally, the Director helps shape business demand by partnering with business and IT resources to facilitate the creation of business cases and value plans and ensuring value optimization and communication across teams. This role will work to structure current teams into Product Lines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive business performance through partnerships with business leaders enabling technology needs and requirements which provide capabilities which positively impact business performance and outcomes
Identify technology investment opportunities and create aligned capability roadmaps and investment strategies
Plan new initiatives, evaluate ideas, and collaborate to develop functional business portfolios and roadmaps based on aligned priorities
Partner across the IT teams to maintain visibility over the portfolio execution.
Act as an internal advisor and visionary on emerging technologies by recommending strategic projects that drive business value.
Manage multiple cost centers and project budgets through a global team, securing funding and resources that map to the portfolio.
Accountable for end-to-end process technology cost centers, budgeting technology projects and assistance in development of value propositions for solutions.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Security on strategy and technical innovation plans to support the portfolio.
Seek innovative solutions that meet business requirements weighing all key factors such as business fit, development and support cost, technological fit in landscape, security requirements and ease of use.
Evaluate new applications for compatibility with current systems, technical requirements, business objectives and corporate strategy.
Provide team leadership and coaching. Manage annual and interim evaluation process of global team members for both performance and development needs, including drafting goals and supporting employees’ in creating their development plans.
Mentor teams and team members to shape initiatives and work efforts to seek cost efficiencies and effectiveness for the business.
Actively survey technology and process innovation, identify, develop, and embed technology and strategic capabilities that drive profitable growth and/or provides competitive advantage for McCormick & Co. Drive innovation within the IT organization and the business through on-going evaluations of emerging or value-added solutions.
Leverage external sources, network and partnerships, to identify best practice and offer progressive solutions that deliver incremental value or create a competitive advantage.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BSc - Business or Technology field, or related discipline
7+ years’ experience in systems solution design, integration or development, 5+ years prior staff leadership experience, 5+ experience in resource and budget planning.
SAP WMS/EWM/TM, Warehousing automation applications, OTC, TPM experience highly preferred
Ability to build relationships, interface effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to influence across functional teams and manage relationships across multiple cultures and geographies. Ability to manage remotely, working with diverse global resources, ensuring they are engaged and informed throughout the organization. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Project management skills in technical or business area for a particular function or process. Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to think strategically; strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Global business and functional acumen - Understand the complexity of business on a global scale. Embrace cultural and individual differences with empathy. Work with the nuances of specific cultures to make informed decisions.

Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence up to C-level executives,
Strong business acumen, as well as financial acumen (including total cost of ownership, value realization, business case)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or related space
PMP, SAP, TOGAF
