As we continue to grow and add top talent to the Baird family of IT associates, we are currently seeking an IT Business Analyst in Core Technology.
This role will be based in either our Milwaukee or Louisville locations. This is a key role within our IT Operations team, focused on delivering value by defining business needs, conducting analysis, and delivering enterprise-wide technology solutions.
This role will interface across our IT teams and with key business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking (including the ability to process complex information and synthesize key points).
This role would involve a hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of in-office (target 2-3 days per week) and remote work. This is important to foster relationships and build consensus across leaders and teams.
Analyze and Develop Solutions – think about it!
- Connect day-to-day work to strategic outcomes and goals of the firm
- Develop analysis approach and apply various business analysis techniques
- Evaluate vendors and drive the team toward vendor selection through RFIs, RFPs, vendor scorecards, and demos
- Tailor message and communication style based on audience. Consistently articulate thoughts and recommendations clearly and concisely
- Collaborate with IT teams to identify potential technology solutions that may meet the business needs and define pros/cons of each
- Produce high-quality written deliverables outlining business needs, technology options, and recommendations
- Generate data visualizations and diagrams as needed to support business analysis
- Think critically and synthesize key points
- Work with key stakeholders to define business needs/requirements through interviews, workflow/process analysis, and surveys
Collaborate - build relationships!
- Build trusting relationships and represent IT in strategic conversations with business partners
- Establish strong network throughout Baird
- Independently diagnose when to communicate information to other stakeholders
- Navigate organizational dynamics to drive decision making and achieve outcomes
Project Execution – get it done!
- Navigate group dynamics by motivating team to work together in the most efficient and effective manner
- Manage some smaller projects end to end, under the guidance and support of Core Team project managers
- Facilitate team meetings, lead team to complete deliverables, and drive continuous improvement
- Work with project managers to define project milestones, based on business needs and technology solutions
- Ability to work on critical, enterprise-wide projects with a variety of teams and leaders, proving your ability to influence and drive impact

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- 1-4+ years of prior IT/Business Analyst experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
- Ability to work and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Critical thinking, including the ability to process complex information and synthesize key points and takeaways
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, ability to influence without authority
- A college degree or equivalent
- Experience working on enterprise-wide technology projects in areas such as data center, network, security, telecom, Microsoft, etc. is helpful
