Investment Banker – Healthcare Jobs

This is an opportunity for a current investment banker in healthcare, or former healthcare consultant or operating manager from the healthcare sector to grow our investment banking practice in the expanding healthcare space. The candidate will be responsible for leading transactions as well as new business development. A high attention to detail is mandatory, as well as the ability to lead and review the work of associates and analysts. The right candidate will have the requisite interpersonal skills and technical skills to progress to Managing Director.

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and talented banker for our growing Chicago-based middle market investment banking practice. This professional will have strong transaction execution skills, marketing skills and a broad network. The candidate will be able to originate opportunities, lead a deal team in obtaining engagements, and lead engagements to their conclusion. This position is a track to Managing Director where the primary responsibilities are new business development, including lead generation, initiation of investment banking engagements and relationship management.

Supported by our experienced investment banking professionals, our Director will be able to leverage their experience, network and industry specialization to generate high quality middle market transactions for the firm. Responsibilities:

• Develop a network of contacts in relevant fields that will assist the Firm in finding new client and expanding relationships with potential investors
• Participate in the preparation of materials describing the business, market positioning and financial condition of clients
• Supervise and mentor staff members
• Identify potential buyers and investors that might be interested in a client’s business and participate in contacting these entities on behalf of the clients
• Conduct business development activities to identify, source and introduce potential clients for M&A and capital raising assignments

Requirements:

• Graduate degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited college/university and/or relevant professional designation
• Five years of experience conducting advisory related projects
• Prior experience in investment banking and/or knowledge of the process and client expectations
• Expertise in the healthcare sector, preferably with operating experience or consulting experience
• Ability to find and contact potential clients, with ability to build (or utilize existing) extensive network of potential clients and referral sources
• As always, the highest level of integrity is mandatory.

• Positive personality with a sense of humor
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative background skills
• Commercial outlook – desire to make money in cooperation with and alongside the Firm
