Job Description
INVESTMENT ASSOCIATE

Work with Portfolio Advisors (PA) within client service teams to consistently deliver a high level of proactive client service and support. You support the PA’s daily workflow by staying abreast of financial markets and client needs to communicate effectively with clients and internal partners, executing and monitoring trade activity, researching and resolving operational and investment issues, ensuring the accuracy of investment performance reports and coordinating the preparation of materials for client and prospect meetings.


This position is critical to the confidence that our clients have in our abilities to manage their finances and the appropriate person will understand the importance of accuracy and timeliness.


Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include


  • Coordinate the creation of presentation materials for client and prospect meetings. Ensure investment performance and all other information is accurately and logically presented.
  • Work on special projects as need
  • Monitor portfolio investment and risk metrics, such as cash balances, bond maturities, corporate actions and asset allocation. Work diligently toward mitigating losses due to error and be mindful of possible contingencies.
  • Monitor and support compliance related activities and follow-up, including consulting with PAs on deficiencies and communicating with clients and obtaining approvals to eliminate exceptions.
  • Understand how to support Portfolio Advisor with investment tools and systems. Share expertise with team.
  • Communicate on Portfolio Advisor’s behalf with clients and internal partners. Provide backup to Portfolio Advisor and other team members as needed.
  • Attend investment calls and team meetings. Communicate information on asset allocation recommendations, new solutions and other related information to Portfolio Advisors and clients.


The successful candidate will benefit from having the following competencies:


  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad understanding of financial markets and knowledge of investment products, services, and financial principals.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in investment services in the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills combined with an attention to detail are needed to meet deadlines and solve client problems and operational issues.
