Job Duties

Under the direction and guidance of the Special Investigations Unit Investigative Analyst Supervisor and the Unit Chief, the Investigative Statistical Analyst is responsible for the collection and analysis of information concerning the operations of the Special Investigations Unit. The position ensures proper information maintenance and integrity of the Unit’s files, records, systems and electronic data. The position gathers specific information and conducts necessary research and queries of statistical data for use in reports and presentations that provide analysis and assessment to senior management.
This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license. Analytical and administrative support experience with emphasis on computer skills and experience with spreadsheet and Microsoft Office applications. Must be certified as VCIN/NCIC operator or meet minimum requirements for certification. Working knowledge of the investigative process and analytical applications used with automated information systems. Considerable skills in the use of computers, data systems and research techniques to support unit operations. Demonstrated ability to enter and manipulate database information by using applicable computer software. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work within a diverse workforce effectively. Knowledge of criminal justice, investigations and corrections programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or Associates Degree in Administration, Management, Technology or like field. Active Notary Public Commission preferred. Extensive experience in the investigative process and analytical applications used with automated information systems.
