Job Description
Forms + Surfaces is a leading designer and manufacturer of architectural products used in high-profile commercial and public projects around the world. With approximately 550 employees worldwide, our team of talented professionals and craftsmen spans numerous disciplines: design, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, sustainability and client support.


Our AZ location (Phoenix, West Valley Area) is currently seeking an Inventory Manager.


How You Contribute


Receiving


  • Communicate receipt of business-critical items to colleagues / plant stakeholders.
  • Manage activities associated with the receiving function i.e., incoming receipt inspections, physical counts, documenting and communicating order vs. packing list / invoice discrepancies.
  • Oversee special inspections for high aesthetic, high value materials including specialty stainless steel, float glass and anodized aluminum profiles.


Inventory and Work Center Kitting


  • Manage RFID tag / product barcode program for incoming material check in & maintaining on-hand “active” inventory.
  • Responsible for the inventory management function, maintaining inventory accuracy and front-end material kitting process.
  • Identify and implement inventory cost reduction opportunities. Identify creative ways to utilize discrepant material, where possible, for work center kitting.
  • Contribute to manufacturing process improvements for production workflows.
  • Develop a systematic approach and strategy for cycle counting. Execute regular, scheduled inventory cycle counts.
  • Maintain Kanban programs for select, high-moving materials.
  • Develop and maintain a material kitting schedule to regularly pull and kit material ahead of work center demand.


Supervisory


  • Develop & implement materials management SOPs with a compliance-monitoring function.
  • Supervise receiving and materials handling team members.
  • Ensure stakeholders comply with materials management procedures.


Qualifications/Criteria For Success


  • A proven history demonstrating initiative and self-direction.
  • 5 years materials management experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Impeccable record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to operate in a high-intensity, manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience with skilled & unskilled labor.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
  • Integrity, optimism, domain expertise & willingness to collaborate.


Tools and Software


  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with Inventory Management tools i.e., RFID, barcodes, barcode scanners, etc.
  • Experience with ERP and API-based SW platforms
