Our client is an established, well-respected transportation manufacturing business servicing customers across the United States and in more than 50 other countries. They are masters of their manufacturing processes, extremely stable, and have experienced solid growth year over year.


Summary

The Inventory and Logistics Manager will be responsible for efficiently maintaining accurate inventory control for two Company plants. Specific areas of responsibility will include chassis inbound, dispatch of finished products, product supply to internal plants, and yard management.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive in problem-solving, and executes with precision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Find refinement/improvement opportunities and execute with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage the recruitment and training of new inventory employee
  • Evaluate deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to identify obsolete inventory and establish/manage scrap process
  • Serve as primary contact for inventory discrepancies and inbound delivery escalations
  • Works closely with Finance, Production, and Purchasing teams for proper inventory levels and the efficient flow of information supporting inbound deliveries from suppliers and consistent supply to the production plant
  • Execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory reconciliation exercises and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Oversee a team of inventory and warehouse employees including all yard personnel, the asset management of forklifts, and any other equipment supporting responsible areas
  • Manage an inventory tracking system to record inbound deliveries and outbound finished product shipments
  • Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics


Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Strong data analysis, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Understanding of inventory reconciliation processes
  • Experience working with inventory management software
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics operations, and inventory reconciliation
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
  • At least 5 years of people management experience
