Our year-round program places the best students in positions where they will grow technically, professionally, and personally through their experience working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team. We are dedicated to providing an experience that allows the intern to experience life at Tesla by including them in projects that are critical to their team’s success.
Locations
- Palo Alto, CA
- Austin, TX
- Fremont, CA
- The Tesla Energy Industrial Storage Service Engineering team is responsible for diagnosing and resolving product issues and escalations from Field Service teams to drive the best customer experience and fleet availability. In this internship you will identify and help resolve fleet-wide performance, operation, and maintenance challenges across the growing fleet of energy products by creating analytics that provide insights to drive action to maintain and improve the fleet.
Energy | Mechanical Design Engineering
- The Industrial Energy Enclosure Engineering team is a small group of hands-on mechanical engineers. Our charter is to design robust and reliable electronics enclosures to enable the successful deployment and operation of Tesla’s Utility scale storage and Supercharging products. We work in a space crowded with regulatory requirements where competitors and suppliers are often invested in the status quo. Our team’s job is to ignore the status quo, challenge rules where appropriate, and implement fundamentals only engineering to make the absolute best products possible.
Energy | Supercharger, Mechanical Engineering
- The Supercharger mechanical design team is a fun, diverse group of engineers, working to design world class charging hardware. We are responsible for major system architecture decisions, detailed design and simulation, and hardcore mechanical design of all elements of the Supercharger system. We are responsible for the success of the product from the early ideation phase all the way to mass production. The Supercharger engineering team is one of the few teams at the company that works on core Tesla tech, high power distribution, while also working on products that everyday people interact with. We are looking for mission driven, enthusiastic design engineers with a passion for hands on work.
Energy | Industrial Storage Hardware, Mechanical Design Engineering
- The Industrial Storage Hardware Engineering team is a group of mechanical engineers dedicated to designing internal systems on all Tesla industrial energy storage products. Our focus is on developing large-scale energy storage technology that can be deployed to provide electrical grid stability and storage for renewable sources. We are responsible for battery design, high voltage distribution, safety systems, wire harnesses, internal mechanism design, and more. We are a small team with a wide scope that allows us to react quickly and make decisions that have a large impact on our products. We are looking for team members who are eager to learn, are motivated and able to take ownership of projects, and who ask the right questions to progress solutions to difficult problems.
