Job Description

Overview

This role is required for PEP to plan for imminent fundamental changes in the global tax landscape. The OECD global tax (Pillar Two Taxes), effective in 2024, brings a new interconnected set of global tax laws in over 140 countries. This role will focus on the day-to-day construction of a more complex, multi-dimensional US international tax model, which must include the Pillar Two Taxes, as well as the new Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax (effective 2023). The role will work with the Dir and VP to update the model through continued global legislative developments and business changes. This complex modeling (i.e., quantitative view) is an essential input of the US tax provision, representing an impact of hundreds of millions of dollars annually in cash tax and external reporting. The role will, under the guidance of a Tax Director, interact with Tax leadership, and with members of Treasury and Control, as well as participate in project management with external advisers.

This role requires strong Excel and modeling skills to quantify the impact of complex tax legislation. This role requires the ability and desire to upskill for digital knowledge to proactively develop a skill set that is uncommon in the market (quantitative skills+ tax legal knowledge).

The combination of a traditional tax planner with the ability to translate detailed tax concepts into quantitative modeling. The individual should have a quantitative background with some legal research experience and good communication skills. Given the changing tax landscape, the individual should be proactive and have a strong desire/ability to learn new concepts and upskill digitally.
This role would provide project management support to complex multi-jurisdictional internal reorganization projects. The role will report directly to the International Tax Sr Director and work closely with the VP of International Tax, Digital and Transformation, as well as across the tax department and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

Some of the key activities of this role would be:
  • Subject to guidance and direction, further improve the functionality of existing GILTI model and support the Planning group in building a more integrated modeling ability with Tax Compliance.
  • Subject to guidance and direction, build out a dimension to the model that integrates the new Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax. Provide some consultation and execute actions.
  • Coordinate with international tax planners for modeling and project management. Execute actions.
  • Interact with Treasury on maintaining budgeted international cash mobilizations. Execute actions.
  • Support in the execution of the tax department’s readiness for BEPS 2.0 in diverse ways- research, modeling, project management, etc.
  • Key participant in analyzing the impact to PepsiCo of ongoing US International and OECD legislative changes. Provide some consultation and execute actions.
  • Key participant in US international tax planning, in particular modeling impacts under various scenarios for US International and OECD tax laws. Provide some consultation and execute actions.
  • Subject to guidance and direction, build out and update the broader US international tax model, including integration with the OECD global tax. Provide some consultation and execute actions.
Minimum requirements:
  • Strong excel skills specifically in modeling, pivot tables, power queries etc.
  • BA/BS required
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • 4 plus years experience in Tax including some tax accounting
  • Ability to translate concepts into quantitative analysis
Preferred requirements:
  • Comfortable with technology and wants to help us digitize and automate
  • Knowledge of Tax Accounting
  • Experience working with Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx
  • Big 4 experience
Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $98,700 - $147,000.• Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.• In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.

Qualifications

Accounting or Finance based degree preferred or equivalent experience; Minimum 4 years (either Big 4 or Industry role); Strong corporate tax experience; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; will interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both in and outside of Tax; A true team worker, who takes pleasure and pride in ‘owning’ an issue, in helping and supporting co-workers, and who will enjoy and contribute to the dynamic of working in a committed team; Fluency in Excel.

Strong at proactively building relationships across organization, passion for collaboration, curiosity for learning outside of traditional tax role, self-starter and resourceful given the small size of our group and the pace of change in the tax world, strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications: Tax Accounting experience and international tax experience. Alteryx, Tableau and other professional software tools.
