Job Description

TrueBlue, the people company, has an opportunity for a high performing fraud investigator. This position is responsible for investigating complex allegations of fraud, corruption, and other financial misconduct arising under TrueBlue's Code of Conduct. This position will also be responsible for loss prevention efforts and fraud data analytics monitoring. The Legal Internal Fraud Investigator will report to a Senior Corporate Counsel. This position is fully remote and can be located anywhere in the United States.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform data analysis to analyze patterns, trends, anomalies, and schemes to monitor for and detect fraudulent activity.
  • Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with business clients, peers, law enforcement agencies and regulators.
  • Generate board-level summary reports.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Maintain investigation case management system, including accurate, current, and thorough case files.
  • Testify in court on behalf of the company, in any case in which you are summoned.
  • Maintain and contribute thought leadership for fraud monitoring program.
  • Maintain internal investigation protocol, policies, and guidelines regarding fraud
  • Responsible for loss prevention and collection.
  • Conduct internal fraud investigations from beginning to end, to include preparing investigation plans, interviewing witnesses, reviewing documentation, and producing investigation reports for decision-makers.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in internal investigations in a retail or multi-unit environment, law enforcement investigations or equivalent experience.
  • Strong case and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple investigations in a multi-unit environment and managing finite resources adequately.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Experience applying laws and policy standards in investigation or fact-finding processes
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong sense of initiative, urgency, and priority while working well under pressure.
  • High comfort level with technology and ability to utilize new software applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and internet usage.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel including PivotTables and VLOOKUP for arranging data and performing in-depth analysis.
  • Ability to interview and elicit cooperation and confidence of interviewees to obtain relevant information, interpret responses, and determine relevant facts
  • Demonstrated experience modeling the ethical way, maintaining confidentiality, and living TrueBlue’s values.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive, coherent, and proficient investigative reports
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population.
  • Knowledge or experience performing compliance data analytics
  • Strong observation, interviewing, investigative, deductive, and analytical skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Third Party Due Diligence experience
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx)
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification


The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $60,000 - $75,000 per year. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.
