Job Description
The Daily Dot, a member of Fragment Media Group, is the web’s most comprehensive source for original internet news and among the fastest growing media companies in the world. We tell the story of the internet each day with uninhibited reporting on the people, apps, memes, and movements that are shaping the world online and off.


Interns for the Daily Dot’s Hi-Res division are experienced writers who are able to report from both the front lines and the dark corners of the web. They have the ability to find and report investigative feature stories.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Find and pitch features that incorporate analysis and interviews
  • Absorb feedback from editors to progressively improve writing and reporting skills
  • Write in an engaging style that adhere to AP Style and Daily Dot guidelines
  • Assist in research process for in-depth features
  • Adhere to journalistic standards for fact-checking, accuracy, and fairness

  • You meet deadlines
  • You understand and know the Daily Dot brand, internet culture, and online trends
  • You are comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
  • You are skilled in research and analysis
  • Experience working as part of a virtual team is a plus
  • You have experience finding sources and securing interviews
  • You have at least one semester of professional-level newsroom experience
  • You want to write long-form feature stories


Note that this internship is currently fully remote.

This is a paid ($20 per hour), approximately 10-hour per week commitment for the duration of the fall. Applications for fall 2023 are due by August 31, 2023.
