Job Description
Job Title: Interior Designer

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience to work with our multi-disciplinary team on interior design projects-- assisting in all aspects of design, detailing, FF&E selection & specification, documentation, permitting and construction. An Interior Designer will assist the Principal-In-Charge of interior projects and/or Project Manager in spearheading all ID projects, from the early days of programming through attendance at project Grand Openings.


The specific job responsibilities and skills we are seeking include:


Responsibilities:


  • Train and mentor junior interior designers and other team members on ArchiCAD software and best practices for interior design.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in interior design, particularly with ArchiCAD software, and provide recommendations for improving design processes and workflows.
  • Develop and present interior design concepts, proposals, and solutions to clients, incorporating their feedback and obtaining approvals.
  • Coordinate with the project team, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of interior design with the overall project.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
  • Prepare FF&E budgets and FF&E specifications sheets and Control Books
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs
  • Responsible for collaboratively developing furniture layouts, mood boards/palettes, selection of FF&E and material specifications
  • Utilize ArchiCAD software to create interior designs, including detailed drawings, 3D models, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify construction progress, quality, and adherence to design intent, and resolve any interior design-related issues that may arise during construction.
  • Participate in all phases of interiors projects, including programming, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration
  • Assist Principal/Project Managers in spearheading projects
  • Develop drawing sets in full coordination with supporting consultants, including but limited to: architecture, structural, MEP, lighting, low-voltage and food service
  • Prepare and revise interior drawings, specifications, and other construction documents using ArchiCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Specify and select interior finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) based on project requirements, budget, and sustainability considerations.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develop the design direction and design goals of a project, sometimes independently and sometimes in collaboration with other designers and/or under supervision of Principal/Project Managers


Qualifications:


  • Proven track record of successful completion of interior design projects using ArchiCAD, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating detailed interior drawings, 3D models, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Computer skills to include proficiency in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sketchup, as well as other BIM and/or 3D software’s
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic
  • Outstanding graphic presentation skills
  • Bachelor's and/or Master degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with construction documentation is a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an interior designer, focus on hospitality is a plus, with a strong proficiency in ArchiCAD software or similar software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and sustainability considerations.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
