Position Summary:

Our internal Merchandising Department needs an experienced Interior Designer to join our national model home design team. We design and manage beautiful model homes across all our markets and need your help creating these exciting environments that become successful selling tools. This is an amazing opportunity for growth and collaboration as we build our national presence and internal merchandising department.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Auto-CAD and Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint proficiency necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent combination of education and experience within the design industry is required
  • Familiarity with interior design library materials and trade resources
  • Experience working on the initial project design with a team from design development to execution and installation
  • 5+ years of design industry experience; Model home or home staging experience preferred
  • A natural eye for design and a strong working knowledge of FF&E, fabric, color, scale and construction detailing
  • Experience in producing Shop Drawings and Schedules
  • Clear understanding of and ability to work with architectural drawings sets

Skills and Background:

  • Manage onsite trades for model home custom treatments in preparation for installation
  • Collaborate and teamwork on model projects, including programming, design development, and documentation
  • Lead junior designers with project deliverables and tasks
  • Research and write specifications for all finish materials, lighting fixtures, window treatments, paint schedule, custom builds, and trim treatments
  • Participate in the development and production of CAD plans, elevations and construction drawing sets
  • Set and meet tight deliverable schedules based on department deadlines
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience communicating design ideas to the client
  • Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents

Job Requirements:

  • The ability to walk, climb, stand and/or sit for long periods
  • The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Experience assembling flat packed or similar furniture pieces; experience using basic tools
  • Our department has a national scope in several states. The ability and willingness to travel 40-50% to oversee model home install; all travel expenses are covered by Century Communities but personal arrangements including child/pet care while traveling is the responsibility of the Interior Designer
  • The ability to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Must be a licensed driver with a reliable vehicle for transporting merchandising inventory and conducting site visits

Compensation: Century Communities (the "Company") intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 with the potential for an annual bonus. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and the Company's 401(k) plan.
