INTERIOR DESIGNER II (3-7 years of experience)
This is a full-time paid position with benefits, two weeks of paid vacation, and additional paid time off between Christmas and New Years.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Harken Interiors is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working designer interested in working across multiple design sectors who brings with them a background in hospitality design. The ideal candidate will bring a creative and positive energy to our client-focused team and know how to thoroughly and efficiently execute work.
Clear and professional communication is key both within our internal teams and when working with reps, clients, and trades. To be successful, you must take pride in your work, work to find the right answers, learn from others and share your knowledge, bring superior skills without an ego, understand the micro and macro goals within projects, and consider and master the details.
The selected designer will play a critical role in space planning, interior architectural design, presentation and graphic development, furniture and fixture coordination and selection, and participation in client meetings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to participating in conceptual research and development; SketchUp and Enscape renderings; reviewing drawings of consultants to ensure integrity of overall design and design details; preparing, managing, and maintaining excellent CAD plans and elevations; researching and sourcing furniture and materials; writing and finalizing specifications in Studio Designer; preparing purchase orders and FF&E tracking for Harken procurement with oversight from senior staff; adhering to budget targets and informing senior staff of potential variances; and preparing content and graphics for client presentations including 2D renderings in PhotoShop and presentation layouts in InDesign. You are responsible for organizing electronic files, documenting project communication, providing activity status reports, and assisting in field surveys and project installations. As a mid-level designer, you will participate in client meetings such as project intakes and presentations as well as serve as ongoing client support for design specifications and trade contacts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
·Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program
·A minimum of three years of work experience in a design firm with demonstrated success in drafting and FF&E
through multiple phases of the design process; hospitality experience strongly preferred
·Hard-working and self-motivated with a positive and collaborative attitude; ability to foster a cohesive team spirit
among designers
·Strong time-management and organizational skills and the ability to work thoroughly and quickly
·Capacity to work self-sufficiently and think independently
·Exceptional communication and client management skills
·Strong graphic and presentation skills
·Ability to research and select FF&E for both multiple types of applications; create specifications, develop and
manage budgets and cost estimates, and purchase and track FF&E
·Aptitude in detailing and contract administration
·Strong understanding of design principles, theory, and the commercial/hospitality construction documentation
process
·Balance of creativity and practicality in producing, refining, and finalizing space plans
·Ability to complete a full architectural drawing set
·Knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
·Flexibility to manage multiple deadlines across multiple projects in various stages of development
·Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch Up or an alternate 3D
