Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and inclusive staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as an Intake Specialist.
The Division of Children, Youth and Family is looking for individuals who are wanting to work in a fast-paced, supportive, and positive environment where you are primarily providing phone intake for initial referrals for child protection and adult protection. Intake specialists spend the majority of the time on the phone taking these referrals, fielding questions from individuals within the community, and then working within different computer systems to process the information gathered from phone calls.

Responsibilities
Specifically, this position:
- Assesses runaways and juveniles who have been picked up or arrested within Larimer County Communicates to team members and supervisors regarding shift changeover processes
- Acts as and provides resources to clients and community members
- Monitors and leads a group email to ensure tasks are followed up on.
- Provides crisis management to clients and community members
- Conducts phone interviews and documents child and adult protection referrals.
- Manages walk-ins from both clients and community members

We are looking for a candidate that will:
- Appropriately handle crisis situations.
- Be able to critically think through difficult situations.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Communicate strongly both verbally and in writing.
- Manage and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Have good time management, organization, and interviewing skills.
Qualifications
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification as a Notary Public required.
- Associate's Degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.

Supplemental Information
An intake specialist's shift varies depending on the need and currently available shifts. Shifts are 8 1/2 hours (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) and can start as early as 7:00 AM or as late as 11:00 AM. Shifts end as early as 3:30 PM or as late as 7:30 PM.
The position will be located at one of the following three locations: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland,
You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
