Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Insurance and Claims Manager will be responsible for directing purchase options for all corporate insurance programs, management of incidents and claims, fleet safety compliance, and DOT compliance to support the Company’s strategic goals. This role has high visibility to internal and external business partners and will be expected to build partnerships across the enterprise, exhibit technical acumen, cultural adeptness, and a customer centric focused approach.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
  • Follow and serve as a role model in displaying Midco’s Core Values and Leadership Success Drivers.
  • Builds risk reporting to support continuous improvement and expense reduction.
  • Creates and implements risk management programs, updating, and monitoring compliance with insurance related programs including annual renewal and audits.
  • Analyze and monitor all new areas of business and ensuring new entities, properties, automobiles, and employees are added to current insurance policies on a timely basis.
  • Implement performance metrics and industry benchmarks to identify trends and challenges.
  • Operationalizes the design, analysis, and delivery of incident and claim information which influences risk management behavior through performance metrics and proactively communicate trends and programs to leaders and business partners across the organization.
  • Administer Certificate of Insurance needs both inbound and outbound flow.
  • Identifies risk exposure, and provides recommendations/solutions.
  • Ensure compliance programs are maintained with external reporting requirements (i.e., OSHA, WSI).
  • Administer the Surety Bond program including processing Bid, Performance & Payment bonds, Work in Progress (WIP) reporting, and facilitating overall corporate compliance.
  • Oversee loss control plan and management of current incidents and claims; Collect, evaluate, and track actions in Origami (Risk Management Information System). Whenever possible work toward reducing claim costs and reoccurrence of claims.
  • Oversees incident management and claims management including workers compensation programs, fleet safety program, and DOT compliance.
  • Updates and maintains total insured values on properties, documents allocations to business units.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • AIC, ARM, CPCU certifications preferred.
  • Experience leading risk management standards and regulations, including but not limited to: managing incidents and claims (including workers compensation, auto and property), DOT compliance, fleet safety (including motor vehicle records management).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office based programs, with advanced experience with Excel and and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; focus on claims management experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant risk management experience required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • Up to 5% travel is required.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings, and weekends as business demands.
