Instructional Coach (Part time independent contractor)

Work you’ll do
As an Instructional Coach, you will actively support educators to improve the learning experiences of students. You will align best practices of teaching and learning with leadership and coaching practices to develop teacher practice. Reporting to Vice President of Pedagogy, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing functional expertise to identify, research, and solve complex problems
- Designing, piloting, and delivering innovative professional development and coaching solutions to support the classroom instructional practices of k-12 educators.
- Provide ongoing feedback to teachers
- Communicating the progress and outcomes using data with school based administrators
- Collaborating in interdisciplinary planning to support the needs of all students, including English Language Learners and Students (“ELL”) with Individualized Education Plans
- Evaluating the progress of educators within the professional development program
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to problem solve by analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, multi-tasking environment
- Bachelor’s Degree; at least 3 years of teaching experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Location: Must be able to make in-person onsite visits throughout five boroughs of New York City
- Demonstrated coaching approach: excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all levels
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Strong command of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with ELLs and/or Students with Individualized Education Plans
- Strong command of Adobe products
- Experience teaching within the New York City Department of Education or other inner cities
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Education, Adult Learning, Psychology, or Design
