POSITION SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for receiving and processing customer orders for parts, assemblies, and REMAN units, along with other inquiries for the Parts Department, while following established procedures and guidelines to promote and sell Marathon parts and services to meet sales targets. Pursue sales leads; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; respond to customer enquiries; and conclude sales orders to meet established revenue targets.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Must be familiar with and maintain compliance to all Marathon Equipment Company rules and Code of Ethics.
  • A strong understanding on the manufacturing process to assist customers in maintaining schedules for their parts and REMAN orders. Prompt communication of order issues or changes to the schedule are a must, as well as being the customer advocate while seeking resolution for the issues.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand our product, troubleshoot system issues, train team members and customers on systems and reports related to orders.
  • Ability to work with all customers and other internal departments to analyze data, brainstorm solutions, and determine the root cause of the problems for permanent resolution. The ability to work as a cross functional team member to solve problems is critical to success.
  • Provide notification to customer of product prices, delivery dates and technical information regarding products and parts.
  • Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the department manager, is essential. Acceptance of overtime assignments may also be required in order to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Create and maintain spread sheets in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to identify with the customer’s problem while having the internal drive to systematically solve customer issues effectively.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to learn new skills in a constantly changing and dynamic work environment.
  • Responsible for conducting a sales order review of all entered orders prior to manufacturing, as well as resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Initiate price quote requests for parts, assemblies, and REMAN units.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent listener with the ability to have a strong phone presence. Ability to sell ideas, concepts and clearly convey information over the phone.
  • Responsible for complying with all established order management processes.
  • Performs other various duties as may be assigned.
  • Ability to multi-task numerous job responsibilities with minimal direction. Ability to work in a self-directed work team to meet company objectives while supporting and meeting customer demands. Maintain a customer focused and "can do" attitude to exceed customer demands while balancing the processes, policies and procedures of the company.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Understand data processing applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smart Sheets
  • Technical knowledge of parts and products.
  • High school diploma required and up to one year of college, technical school or equivalent experience nice to have.
  • Speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal and external relations.
  • Requires ability to understand general arithmetic.
  • Knowledge and experience with Marathon’s products would be preferred but not required.
  • Understand difficult written and verbal instructions. Requires the ability to read written instructions, correspondence, and other documentation, as well as operate office equipment such as computers and printers.
  • Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to input product and parts orders into computer and insure computer information backup.
