Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), located in Brooklyn Center, MN, is looking for a Technician I. The person that takes this role will be expected to perform all aspect of the injection molding process including but not limited to set up, start up, troubleshooting, mold cleaning, mold maintenance including complete tear down and equipment maintenance to support daily operations at MECC. This individual will perform assigned tasks & routine duties using standard practices and work instructions in the area under limited supervision. Position has a considerable level of knowledge and judgment in determining work methods, performing tasks / tests and recording data. A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have
  • Experience documenting work inside a quality system (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Experience following and developing procedures for preventative maintenance
  • Solid technical ability, equipment set up, and troubleshooting skills
  • Tool design, toolmaking or tool repair experience
  • Experience working with Decoupled III Molding processes and process development
  • Advanced plastics processing training certifications (example: Master Molder)

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
