GDIT is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Systems Manager to support Storage, Backup and Disaster Recovery services for the ITS-EPA IV MAINES contract. The IT Systems Manager is responsible for managing Enterprise IT solutions that align with customer goals. This individual must possess strong leadership, communication, planning skills, and have a broad IT background in storage (fibre channel networks and NAS), and disaster recovery services. This individual must possess the ability to architect and engineer new solutions when new requirements are received. The role requires management of nine technical engineers to establish and implement processes and methodologies for new initiatives and enhancements. The IT Systems Manager is responsible for overall coordination, daily operations, status reporting, and stability of the infrastructure. Projects must be delivered on time, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer service levels.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure, to include networking, hardware, software, and storage solutions including but not limited to Hitachi, Dell, Netapp, Cisco and Veritas.
- Alert/Incident Response Class 1 responded to within 15 minutes = SLA performance target
- Updated DR and CP Plans = annual deliverable
- Collaborates with leadership, vendors, and internal affiliates to successfully manage all aspects of information technology including workflows, analysis, reporting, risks, and federal requirements for each service.
- Provides support and oversight to IT projects, while ensuring timelines for deliverables and service levels are met. Primary, but not all SLA/Deliverables:
- Production Storage Availability = SLA performance target 99.95%
- Alert/Incident Response Class 1 responded to within 15 minutes = SLA performance target
- Number of production failed backups with errors and not completed next business day = SLA performance target .8%
- Updated DR and CP Plans = annual deliverable
- Number of production failed backups with errors and not completed next business day = SLA performance target .8%
- Collaborates with internal and external affiliates to develop and implement enterprise IT service line initiatives that align with customer requirements.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of IT workflow and functionality to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provides input to the strategic direction of IT service lines to include enterprise storage, backup technologies and disaster recovery solutions that will influence the business direction in new and existing products and systems.
- Responsible for life cycle management of all storage, backup and DR hardware and software
- Production Storage Availability = SLA performance target 99.95%
- Conducts bi-weekly customer status meetings for each service.
- Conducts annual performance reviews for technical staff.
- Reviews and approves technical staff timesheets.
- Provides advice and recommendations on all aspects of business continuity. Work includes continuous risk assessments, business impact analysis and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. This is limited to IT recovery and does not include facility or community related emergency preparedness.
- Obtaining approval of any new significant expenditures.
- Support storage, backup, and disaster recovery staff, to include, on- going training and competency evaluation specific to their job description.
- Assumes other duties as required.
- Delivers weekly and monthly status reports.
- Collaborates with security teams and third-party vendors to ensure security of all systems adhere to EPA policies.
- Establishes and maintains positive business relationships with vendors. Vet quotes for accuracy and review with the customer.
- Understands business continuity program goals, inclusive of the development and reporting against metrics and key performance indicators, meant to assess program health and continuous program improvement.
- Ensures technical staff completes both mandatory GDIT internal and EPA training.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in senior technical IT role related to storage and backups
- Must work well under pressure.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical parties.
- Manage equipment and services in remote locations.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- 3+ year of experience supporting disaster recovery efforts
- 10+ years in a Leadership role.
- Superior oral and written communications skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to supervise both people and process.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 8 years’
