Information Technology Manager Jobs

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science required

Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology with a minor in Business Administration preferred

Minimum of ten years of experience in the Information Technology field working with computers, networks, security, and programming required

Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role required

Certification in CompTIA: Network+ and Security+ required

Certification in CompTIA: CASP+; ISC2: CISSP; ISACA: CISM, CGEIT preferred

Job Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) Manager is primarily responsible for the management of the IT function within the Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA), utilizing leadership and technical expertise to build, maintain, and grow a secure and effective technical environment to support CCUA’s mission. In this role, the Manager analyzes and translates complex IT concepts to guide and support decision makers with their technical computing resources. Strategically, this position supports long-term business goals by analyzing current and emerging technologies and providing recommendations for the future computing environment. The IT Manager managers the IT department staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the IT department to include IT operations, workforce planning, performance management, goal setting and succession planning; provide guidance and leadership to foster a successful team.

Utilize expert knowledge to provide technical support, training, and problem-solving advice to internal customers; function in the capacity of other IT Department roles as needed.

Create dynamic relationships with cross-functional leaders to understand the unique business requirements and provide support in determining technology needs.

Manage budget responsibilities for IT and other departments by prioritizing IT equipment purchases, performing risk and benefit analysis for new technology, and submitting recommendations to executive management.

Manage in a fluid manner to ensure CCUA’s IT support is efficient, effective and adaptable to the organization’s changing business needs.

Function as primary project manager for the IT Department by assigning resources, problem solving, and scheduling; intervene as necessary with unexpected delays or challenges.

Provide compliance oversight to ensure IT activities are performed within parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

Lead the cybersecurity function including creating and enforcing system policies and procedures related to the IT function.

Job Specific KSA’s - Knowledge of Enterprise IT systems, core IT processes, cybersecurity, and IT Process Framework with the ability to methodically plan and implement best practices. Knowledge of IT business continuity and disaster recovery planning with the ability to lead emergency initiatives in a calm and decisive manner.

Leadership – demonstrated success as a driven, hands-on leader. Possess expertise in selecting, training, developing, coaching, mentoring and retaining a highly motivated workforce.

Customer Service – Provide high level of service to targeted customer base. Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external requests for information. Must be able to translate customer (internal and external) complaints, statements, and requirements into actionable work scope statements.

Organization & Time Management – able to plan, schedule and organize professional schedule to achieve strategic goals within or ahead of established time frames. Knowledge of project management processes with the ability to communicate objectives and maintain deadlines in a highly detailed manner.

Analytical Problem-Solving & Decision Making – Ability to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and short-term and long-term impact.

Systems and Software –

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems (OS) (Desktop and Server), Linux/Unix Operating Systems, Microsoft server applications (MSSQL, Active Directory, Exchange, etc.), Microsoft Office (Office, Visio, Project), FileMaker, Visual Studio, Cisco IOS, VMWare Virtualization, VMWare Horizon, Dell/EMC Networker, Financial ERP software, Fortinet OS, Python scripting, and Business Intelligence Visualization required

Intermediate proficiency with VTScada, CradlePoint OS, Apple Business Manager, Apple IOS preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $101,400.00 - $152,300.00 per year
