YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our team with Brenntag Specialties currently has an opening for an Industry Market Manager, Material Science with a focus in rubber and plastics.

• Ensures that business plans for identified focus industries are developed and implemented in a timely and effective manner;
• Deliver double digit profit growth year over year
• Support the sales force to make sure they have all the necessary tools they need to succeed
• Be in regular dialogue with the Regional Sales Directors to make sure goals are aligned
• Determines potential gaps in product portfolio and investigates possible vendor partners to fill these gaps with respective business units.
• Ensure the continued education of our specialty sales and technical team through our partners
• Develops and maintains effective and strategic relationships with key suppliers;
• Be sure to utilize the expertise of the Technical field managers
• Provides technical support to the sales organization and/or other members of the marketing, procurement, regulatory and operations team as required;
• Manages an assigned group of suppliers on a North American basis;
• Analyze market trends and prepare forecast of assigned products to achieve Material Science overall target for inventory turns as well as individual target for dead and extremely slow moving stock;
• To set goals that are satisfactory to both Brenntag and its suppliers that help us meet our desired targets. To implement the necessary plans to achieve the goal and to monitor the progress along the way.
• Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure inventory minimum and established deadlines are met;
• Participates with sales management and the business units in establishing recommended price changes base on market intel;
• Contributes and participates with business units in the creation of product line strategic for select markets;

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:

• Strategic business, marketing & pricing skills
• Superior presentation, communication and negotiation skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business; Specialized courses covering target industries would be considered assets
• Previous sales or product experience in the chemical distribution or related industry (10 years)
