Job Description

The Industry Analyst performs quantitative and qualitative research in support of a wide variety of projects related to the automotive industry and its extended ecosystem.



Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow developments within the automotive industry and overall economy.
  • Conduct research and prepare reports.
  • Prepare results, including tabular and graphical presentations; write sections of research reports.
  • Search, review, and summarize existing research literature; apply findings.
  • Review and summarize text complex literature (e.g., federal regulations or policies) for a variety of audiences.
  • Acquire, maintain, and present datasets for use in related data science.
  • Participate in proposal teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to convey research findings clearly and effectively through written reports, charts, tables, and presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields of business, economics, engineering, data science, finance, public policy, or a related field
  • Quantitative and qualitative research training or experience.
  • Familiarity with government and other data sources.
  • 2 years or more of experience after a bachelor’s degree in a research environment, or a master’s degree with active on-campus teamwork

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Skilled in methods and programming tools used to work with large datasets (e.g., those found at data.gov).
